Canberra Synphony Orchestra

The Canberra Symphony Orchestra ensembles will serenade the city centre this Christmas. With a series of four free concerts held in the city, 2 under Canberra's unique Kaleidoscope Christmas Tree on City Walk and 2 in City Walk. The ensembles will perform classical arrangements as well as a couple of Christmas favourites for families, couples and visitors to enjoy.

    Ancient Greek Exhibition

    Coming to Canberra from the 17 December to the 1 May 2022 is the Ancient Greek Exhibition at the National Museum of Australia. Featuring 170 historic objects normally housed at the British Museum, including jewellery, sculptures, body armour, coins and more.

    New Year's Fireworks

    Back in full action are Canberra's annual New Year's fireworks display at 9pm and midnight. Pick up a First Edition Takeaway hamper and head down to the lake to enjoy synchronised fireworks displays lighting up the night sky over Lake Burley Griffin.

    Fireworks will be launching from three locations across Lake Burley Griffin, allowing you to take advantage of the variety of lakeside or mountain top locations across the city.

    Sunset Outdoor Cinema

    Summernats

    Summernats is Australia's largest gathering of modified and street vehicles attracting over 2000 vehicles each year and growing. Since its initiation in 1988, Summernats has evolved into a family event featuring burnout competitions, parades, concerts, fireworks and more!

    Australians & Hollywood

    It's time to celebrate local talent with the Australians & Hollywood exhibition opening in January 2022 at the National Film and Sound Archive.

    Showcasing iconic moments in contemporary Australian film and the people who brought those stories to life, putting Australian actors and actresses in the spotlight. This Canberra exclusive exhibition features rare behind the scene footage, costumes, stories and props from the NFSA on display for the first time.

    Canberra Multicultural Festival
