Q: What are the check in and check out times?

  • Guaranteed Check-in is from: 14:00 and Check-out is no later than 11:00 unless pre-arranged. The daily room occupancy is from 14:00 – 11:00 except Sundays where complimentary late check-out may be available. Please note, late check-out is subject to availability. Please contact the concierge desk to arrange a late check out (Late check-out fees may apply).
  • If you arrive at the hotel before the guaranteed check-in time, reception can store luggage until your room is available.
  • If you require guaranteed early access to your room before the check-in time, the hotel requires a previous night's accommodation rate payment to secure the room.

Q: If arriving earlier than check in time, or departing late, is there anywhere to store our luggage?

Certainly, concierge can store guest luggage on arrival if rooms are not available. They can also store luggage after check out for the remainder of that day. Long term luggage storage is available on the condition that there is a future reservation in place.

Q: Is there on-site car parking available?

Yes. Subject to availability, limited undercover car parking is available for in-house guests only at an additional cost. During peak times, our car parking attendants will be available to assist with our underground car park. During your stay, an undercover offsite car park may be utilised however your vehicle will be available on request during these times. Due to the limited number of parking spaces at Novotel Canberra we are unfortunately unable to guarantee or reserve parking. Paid parking is also available nearby in the city.

Q: How far is the nearest public transport?

Train Station

Novotel Canberra is only a short drive from Canberra's Train Station on Wentworth Ave, Burke Cres in Kingston. For more information, please visit Transport NSW

Bus Station

Canberra's central bus interchange is less than 200m walk from Novotel Canberra in the city centre.

Light Rail

Canberra's City light rail terminal is located at the front of the hotel and runs every 10-15mins from the city through the northern suburbs terminating at The Gungahlin Marketplace.

Taxi and Ride Share Services

There is a taxi rank and drop off and pick up zone conveniently located out the front on Northbourne Ave.

Q: Is there wireless internet (WiFi) available in the rooms?

We are pleased to offer complimentary internet access to our guests.

We also offer 30 minutes of complimentary wireless internet access once every 24 hours at our First Edition Restaurant on level one. The download limit for this complimentary internet access is 8MB.

Internet access is also available via the Mac bar, located on level one at the top of the stairs. The Mac bar computers are complimentary however, time limits may apply depending on demand. Please see reception for more information or if you wish to use a computer.

Q: Is there a swimming pool and Gym?

Yes. Our heated indoor pool, spa, sauna and gym are located on the 2nd floor. Our pool and gym are open from 06:00 to 22:00. Our pool is 12 meters long with clear depth markings and heated during the colder seasons for your comfort. Our gym is equipped with both cardio and weights equipment for your convenience.

Q: Is there a kitchen, microwave or cooking facilitys in the rooms?

The Executive Apartments have a kitchenette that includes a microwave, toaster, stove top, cookware and kitchen utencils.

Q: Are there apartment suits?

Yes, we have Executive Apartments that have a separate bedroom and a living space that includes a table and chairs and kitchenette.

Q: Are there accessible rooms for people with a disability?

Yes, we offer accessible rooms. Please contact the hotel directly for further details. Unfortunately the hotel cannot accommodate hoists.

Q: Are there smoking floors available?

No - Novotel Canberra is a dedicated non-smoking hotel.

Q: Are there babysitting services available?

Q: What billing methods do you accept?

Pre-Authorisation and Security Bond: As a condition of stay, a photo ID will be required on arrival for all guests, along with a valid debit or credit card.

Credit & Debit Cards: As per the hotel’s policy, on check in we request you to kindly provide us with a valid Credit or Debit Card, matching the name on the reservation.

At the time of check-in, the hotel requires payment in full for accommodation, as well as a security deposit. With a credit and debit card, we take a bond of $1.01. Upon final settlement of the bill, the bond is released from our end onto the initial card provided. Note: Depending on your financial institution, pending/ held funds can take up to seven (7) working days to be released.

Cash: For guests’ preferring to settle by cash, we charge the accommodation & parking (if any) upfront. A bond of $100 for the first night applies, followed by a $50 bond for every subsequent night. Please note: On check out, guest rooms with cash bonds are liable to being checked prior to the bond being returned.

Q: Where is the nearest theatre for live performances and shows?

Canberra Theatre is conveniently located approximately a 10 minute walk from Novotel Canberra.

Q: What activities or attractions are available for my children?

There are numerous options for children of all ages near Novotel Canberra, including Questacon, Australian Institute of Sport and Cockington Green. For more information, please contact Concierge. 

Q: What are the best ways to get around town and surrounds?

Novotel Canberra’s prime location with the many forms of public transport right at the hotel’s doorstep is an ideal way to visit the sights of Canberra. The best way to get around the city will also depend on the duration of your stay in Canberra and how often you will utilize the public transport; the most common activities are conducted by day tour companies that offer trips throughout Canberra and its surrounds.

Q: Nearest supermarket or shopping centre?

There is a convenience store located in the Jolimont Centre beneath the hotel.
Canberra Centre is the closest major shopping centre and is located a short walk from the hotel.
The closest major supermarket is Supa Barn which is located on the Ground Floor of the Canberra Centre.

Q: We need a car, where can we organise car rental?

There is a Europcar office at Novotel Canberra.

There are many areas to dine in and around Canberra, depending on what you are looking for and the kind of atmosphere you prefer. Most popular dining spots are: Civic, Kingston and Manuka.
